Understanding Technology
“What obstacles do project managers face to successful completion of an Information Technology project?”
Project Manager: Leading financial services company
Since you specify IT projects, I would say the individual team members understanding of the technology being implemented can be a hindrance (including the PM).
MüTō Observation:
"Do I have to know the subject matter?" (ie: the technology...) The patent answer is "It DEFINITELY helps..." However, it’s not necessary, so long as there's a qualified SME to support the PM. But I mean a REAL one. Now there's the trick.
